Beavers - 6 to 8years

Try new things. Make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your big adventure.

Beaver Scouts are aged between 6 and 8 years old. We aim to teach the young children the starting steps of scouting, which includes life skills they would not normally get taught at home or school.
He encourage them to master new skills and try new activities. Beavers have fun in games and go on adventures, making new friends along the way.
Beavers are curious about the world around them, fact finding safe things to do, and the dangers to be aware of. They learn to help others and make a difference to their community.
One of the most important skills they will learn at Beavers, are the ones that will make them feel super strong standing on your own two feet. We call these character skills, and they include things like integrity – being honest and doing what you think is right – and initiative – knowing how to take the lead on something without being asked. Its about having the courage to try new things and learn from them.
All these skills can help children at that early age. Like basic first aid, including how to carefully put a fully grown adult into the recovery position, and how to perform CPR in an emergency. How to use Morse Code and the Phonetics Alphabet.
Everything they learn will go towards badges and awards they can earn, which can then be sown onto their uniforms to be proud of.

Our Beaver meetings are every Monday during school term time from 5.30pm to 6.45pm
