Being a Scout is about taking responsibility. Our Scouts are expected to be a responsible young person, at home, school and in the Scout Troop. applying the skills they learn into everything we do. Scouting is about learning and having fun along the way. Our games are fun team building exercises, eventually showing individual leadership skills in our young people.

Discovery Adventure Evening

We took our scouts to nearby Gilwell Park for an evening of various challenging activities. In the two hour session, there were four activities to complete - Jacobs Ladder, two types of climbing wall and Crate Stacking.

Scouting Skills

We spent an evening refreshing on our scouting skills and teaching our newest recruits, the very basics. This included navigation, fire lighting, knots and lashings and First Aid.

Mini Hike

Whilst the weather is still warm and dry, in readiness for the forthcoming District Night Hike, we thought it would be good to get some practise in.

The summer season is now over,the evenings are getting darker, therefore its time to get our torches out, fit new batteries and put them to good use.

Using "What Three Words" we planned a route around the Lea Valley Park, using the navigation app and things to find along the way.

Family Games Evening

For our last meeting of the current scouting year, we invited our scouts' parents, brothers and sisters and friends along, to an evening of fun activities, and a selection of soft drinks and nibbles.

Whilst the evening was a games evening, we did setup a TV for those who wished to watch the England and Argentina semi-final football match, and still join in with the activities.

The evening was a great success with a full house and everyone enjoying themselves.

Water Activities

We took our scouts to ESSA for a day on the water. They took part in three activities, Rafting, and two types of Paddle boarding. The weather was warm and rain-free. Everyone has a wonderful day.

Food from around the world

Our scouts recreated dishes from around the world.

Rifle Shooting and Archery

Our fellow leaders from "The Vultures" troop, very kindly held a rifle shooting and archery session for our youngsters.

Kebabs

Our scouts built small open fires in our forest area. Prepared fresh Chicken onto skewers and cooked them in the hot embers. The cooking took longer than expected and although the session ran overtime, our youngsters were fed, and they thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
